The linkages between the formal and informal economy is a significant area of investigation by policy makers, and researchers. The reason for the increased activity in this area is that the informal economy represents a potential area for job creation and poverty eradication, although there are differences as to the channels that would work best. This page focus is on the linkages between formal and informal sector. The papers are drawn primarily from a project run by the Employment, Growth and Development Initiative.
